Several years ago I saw a woman jogging with a Phil&Teds Sport stroller with doubles kit. Never having seen anything like it, I knew I wanted that stroller when I started my family. So while pregnant with my 1st child, I ordered the Phil&Teds Sport. I loved it mostly, but had a few complaints. Several months ago I realized that Phil&Teds had just come out with a new stroller that fixed all the complaints I had with the Sport. I promptly sold my Sport and purchased the Explorer and have been thrilled with my stroller ever since. Here are the things I love about the stroller:
- it's a jogger stroller just in case you might ever want to run with it (front wheel can swivel or lock)
- it has substantial wheels that will easily roll over any terrain (and glides like air on smooth surfaces)
- it has a second seat that can be added when you have a second kid******* (prob the best feature!!!!- you won't have to buy a new stroller when you have your 2nd kid!!)
- even with the second seat on, the stroller is only the size of a single stroller, so you're not this massive moving thing trying to get through a store or park.
- it folds (easily!) almost flat & locks (some don't lock, so they're floppy, making it hard to get in and out of a car)
- the handle moves so that whoever is pushing can put the handle where it is most comfortable for them (this is especially good for tall people)
- the seat is padded, removable, and washable
- you can buy an adaptor that allows you to put a car seat on the stroller. The doubles kit can be used at the same time.
- it has an awesome sun shade that "follows" the sun so you move the shade wherever you need it to block the sun. The 2nd seat also has its own sunshade.
- it has a great basket underneath. This basket is where the 2nd kid's feet go though, so once you're using the stroller for two kids, you lose a lot of the basket storage, but to me its totally worth it to have a stroller that holds 2 kids but isn't massive. I solved that issue (lack of storage when used with 2 kids) by getting a diaper bag back pack.
- the brake is very very easy to use (a huge improvement over the Sport)
I honestly don't have a single complaint about the stroller. The only negative thing to be aware of is the lack of storage when used with two kids. But like I mentioned, this con is really just a trade off for having two kids fit in the space of a single stroller. It's just something to be prepared for.
Finally- Phil&Teds customer service is fabulous! When I first received my new stroller, it came with a deformed wheel. I immediately called Phil&Teds about it. Since the stroller was still so new, they didn't have replacement parts yet, so they took a wheel off their demo stroller at their office and sent that straight to me. I was incredibly impressed.
Every time I use my stroller, I think about how wonderful it is. Every time I see a mom struggling to push her massive double stroller through a store, I think about how awesome my stroller is. I can't tell you enough how wonderful it is. And how unique it is. It's worth every bit of its price tag!

My husband and I were not going to get a stroller at first then our little one began to grow...so I started my research on strollers. In my head I imagined a ugly piece of equipment that would get stuck or just feel like toucher pushing around. Then I found the Explorer (did purchase it somewhere else for less). When it arrived the tires were flat (I was warned in the reviews I had read so not surprised) so I ran down to the gas station and filled them up. It was not hard at all to put together.....that is except to figure out how to make the front wheel rotate and not lock (had to call Phil and Ted's help line but they were great). I then put my little man in and we went for a stroll around the house...it was great!. So great that I packed it up in the car and we drove down to the park for another stroll....it was great. The next day my husband wanted to try it out so I checked the tires (read to do this as well) and one was low so hubby aired it up and it blew up......hmmmm. Easy enough because the local bike show had tubes for it. Long story short this stroller has been great, it glides well, it fits through the doors easily and it looks nice to boot.

I did a lot of research to find a nice double stroller that would pop in and out of the car easily. This is the best I could find. I love that the double seat goes on the back or on the front. I love that the stroller is no wider than a typical single stroller. BUT, of course, I have some complaints.
1. For the price, the materials seem cheap. For example, the fenders are slightly bent. They came that way and it's a minor thing but it shows that the overall quality isn't great. Also, the wheels are plastic and if your tire blows (which is easy to do because there is conflicting tire pressure info on the tire and on the wheel), your whole wheel will explode and need to be replaced. The shoulder straps are really really flimsy.
2. The fold up is easy but when you unfold it, it seems a bit awkward and I end up with a metal piece on the ground, causing scratches.
3. I've had the stroller for five months and it looks fairly well worn.
4. Jogging with this is difficult at best. I know it's not sold as a jogger but all materials imply jogging is ok. I did a 5k with my son in this and because all the wheels are so small, it was like pushing a refrigerator.
6. The basket is too small. There is no good attachment made by P&T for holding drinks. I bought one from BOB and it works great.
